Axar Patel, Shubman Gill, and Shardul Thakur have not traveled to Rajkot for the third and final ODI against Australia. Axar Patel has been recovering from a left quadriceps strain and is expected to be fit for the World Cup. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the BCCI’s National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
In their absence, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have returned to the lineup for the final ODI. Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya are also not part of the squad for this game.
With only 13 players available for the match, India may have to use local first-class players from the Saurashtra team if needed in the field.
India won the first two ODIs against Australia and took the series. The first match saw India win by five wickets, while the second match was a dominant performance by India, posting 399 for 5 and restricting Australia to 217.
